Parenting Help: Legit Hack to Monitor and Keep Your Kids safe

Being a parent, you'll nod in agreement when I say that one of life's greatest fears is the thought of your little one vanishing or being in harm's way. It can be very hard to monitor your children in an inexpensive way.

Nowadays, kids are equipped with smart devices, but even with a tracker on their phone, there are moments when it falls short. Every day, there are countless little ones who go missing, whether they wander off, are taken, or simply get lost in the hustle and bustle, like that heart-pounding moment at Disney World when your toddler disappears into the crowd. The panic that sets in during these times is unlike any other. Let me share a simple yet absolutely lifesaving tiny product that I stumbled upon to safeguard my precious ones. While there are tracker watches, phones, and various devices designed for parents, these can often be too conspicuous. Imagine your child facing an abductor—chances are they won't have access to their phone anymore. That's where this ingenious product comes in, flying under the radar, quietly watching over your child without giving away its purpose. It's not something you'd expect to see on a child or baby, which is precisely why it's invaluable in situations like child abductions and a myriad of other scenarios, such as when your child is walking home from the bus and you're anxiously waiting for their safe return.

What is this lifesaving product?

Apple Air Tag

What does this little device do?

Apple AirTag is a small, coin-sized tracking device designed to help you locate and keep track of your belongings, such as keys, wallets, bags, KIDS and more. Here's what an Apple AirTag does:

  1. Location Tracking: When you attach an AirTag to an item, OR CHILD, you can use the Find My app on your Apple device (iPhone, iPad, or Mac) to track the location of that item. The AirTag communicates its location to your device via Bluetooth.

  2. Precision Finding: The Find My app provides guidance on the proximity of your lost item. It uses a combination of visual and audio cues to help you find your item, even in crowded or unfamiliar places. This feature is especially useful for locating items within close range.

  3. Lost Mode: If you can't find your item, you can put the AirTag into Lost Mode. When another Apple device comes into range of the AirTag, it can anonymously report the location to the owner using the Find My network. This feature relies on Apple's extensive network of devices to help locate lost items.

  4. Siri Integration: You can ask Siri to find your items by saying something like "Hey Siri, where are my keys?" if your item is equipped with an AirTag.

  5. Replaceable Battery: The AirTag is powered by a user-replaceable CR2032 coin cell battery, which lasts for approximately a year under normal usage. You can easily replace the battery when it's depleted.

  6. Customizable: You can personalize your AirTag with custom engravings, such as your name or a message.

  7. Privacy and Security: Apple has implemented several privacy features to ensure the security of AirTag users. The AirTag is designed to be unable to track people or objects without the owner's knowledge. It also includes features to prevent unwanted tracking.

So, yes this product wasn’t technically MADE for tracking kids, but this is a safety hack that I just cannot keep to myself.

Of course it’s also very useful when it comes to locating items as well, but keep this in mind next time you plan an outing.

Imagine this scenario: Your child walks home from the bus stop every day, and you expect them back at 3 pm. But it's now 4:30 pm, and your child hasn't returned. Panic starts to take hold as you confirm that your child was indeed on the bus and should have been dropped off. However, there's no sign of them. Thankfully, you had the foresight to slip an Apple AirTag into your child's shoe before school. In this moment of anxiety, that tiny tracker becomes your lifeline. With it, you can pinpoint your child's exact location, providing immediate relief as you determine whether your child needs help or has simply wandered off on a little adventure. Let's set the scene: You're at the enchanting Disney World with your family, and you're all eagerly waiting in line for ice cream. Your husband is handling the payment, and your son tugs at your leg to point out the Mickey Mouse character by the photo booth. You briefly turn your attention to admire Mickey, and when you look back to grab your daughter's hand, she's nowhere to be seen. She's only 2 years old, and it's evident that she must have slipped away during those mere three seconds you turned away. But here's the silver lining: This morning, you thought ahead and placed an Apple AirTag in her backpack. What a lifesaver! Whether you're at airports, theme parks, school, play places, birthday parties, or any public setting where your child might potentially wander off, this little gadget is a godsend. It's not just for older kids either – even babies can benefit from it if you tuck it in their shoe or the pocket of their clothes. The peace of mind it provides, especially for its price, is well worth it to keep your precious little ones safe and secure.

These Apple Air tags come in single packs, or packs of 4.
